The twenty-seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is currently in progress at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Winning the toss, the Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma opted to field first, suggesting that the track at the venue has gotten better as the games have progressed and it might be a better choice to chase keeping that in mind.

On a Head-to-Head count in the history of IPL of these two sides, the Mumbai Indians are the superior side, having won 18 to Super Kings’ 12 in 30 IPL meetings.

Both teams clashed in the season opener in IPL 2020 where CSK won the game by 5 wickets, chasing down the target with 4 balls to spare after restricting Mumbai Indians to 162/9 in 20 overs. However, in the second game, MI made a strong comeback and reduced CSK to a score of 3/4 in the first inning. CSK somehow managed to post 114/9, although, it took only 12.2 overs for Mumbai to chase the target down.

The former India cricketer and the CricTracker expert Reema Malhotra, however, reckons that the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will be able to take an edge over Rohit Sharma and his men in this encounter and will record their sixth consecutive victory of the season.

Chennai Super Kings will carry on with the momentum: Reema Malhotra

Speaking at CricTracker’s live show ‘In The Air’, Malhotra said she would want to go with the Chennai Super Kings because they have momentum behind them. Notably, CSK has been on a five-match winning streak and is eyeing sixth consecutive against Mumbai Indians.

“It is extremely hard to pick one in these two teams. Both are strong, but I would want to follow my instinct and pick Chennai Super Kings over Mumbai Indians because they have momentum behind them. Although, my mind says that Mumbai Indians can be the heavier side but I will back my instincts, so CSK,” she said.

“I support them because I feel they are capable to carry forward the momentum they have managed to make so far,” she concluded.
