West Indies star Dwayne Bravo has landed in Chennai to link up with his Chennai Super Kings teammates ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The fourteenth edition of the competition is scheduled to get underway on April 9 with a clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK, on the other hand, will start their campaign on April 10.

The three-time IPL winners have already started their preparation for the upcoming season. The MS Dhoni-led side will be desperate to bounce back after their disastrous campaign in IPL 2020. They could win only 6 of their 14 league games and failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time in the IPL history. They had eventually finished at the seventh spot in the eight-team competition.

Just like CSK, Bravo had a season to forget too. The star all-rounder’s season was marred by injury and he was eventually ruled out of the tournament. Bravo missed the start of IPL 2020 with a knee injury that he had sustained during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). After recovering from the injury, he played six games.

He, however, failed to impress in those six games. In those six games, Bravo picked up six wickets while returning an economy rate of 8.57. With the bat, he managed to score only 7 runs in two innings. Towards the second half of the competition, he was ruled out of IPL 2020 after suffering a Grade 1 tear to his right groin. Bravo will be hoping that he remains injury free this season and helps CSK bounce back.

Dwayne Bravo’s message for Ambati Rayudu:

Dwayne Bravo landed in Chennai on Saturday and immediately released a message for his good friend and CSK teammate Ambati Rayudu. Sitting in his hotel room, Bravo recorded a video where he could be seen telling Rayudu that he has landed in Chennai. Earlier this month, Rayudu had arrived in Chennai to take part in the ongoing pre-season camp.

Ambati Rayudu,” said Bravo before adding: ” Rayudu, I am here my brother. How are you? You have been asking when is DJ Bravo going to turn up. So I am here. Okay my brother.
