The Eliminator clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders is currently underway at Sharjah International Stadium, where Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat, despite the win-loss record reading 5-3 I favor of chasers at the venue this year.

“We are going to bat first, looks like a great wicket, nice and hard. It gets tougher to bat here in Sharjah as the game progresses. No changes. A youngster steps up and wins you a game against a top side like Delhi. Very happy for KS. This is what this tournament is all about. Meetings have been pretty short and sharp. We have the ability to win games, nothing changes this being an Eliminator,” Kohli said at the toss.

His counterpart, Eoin Morgan said: “We would have loved to bowl first anyways. The toss doesn’t bother us. We are feeling confident within the group, we are starting to come good as a team. We are playing with the same team.”

CricTracker Expert Lalchand Rajput predicts RCB to win

Speaking at CricTracker’s Live Show In the Air, former India player, coach and expert Lalchand Rajput predicted Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore to come up trumps against Eoin Morgan’s Kolkata. Knight Riders.

“My gut feeling is Royal Challengers Bangalore. But chasing is slightly easy. If RCB scores below 135, then KKR will certainly win.”

He further said that the Sharjah track has been on the slower side this year with spinners getting more success. “I feel a score above 140-145 will be challenging to chase at this venue as it has been on the slow side this year, the ball has also turned a bit,” he added.

The winner of the contest will face Delhi Capitals, losers of the first qualifier, in the second qualifier on October 13.
