Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings will clash in the second game of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This match will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Delhi faced a huge blow before the start of the season as their captain Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to a shoulder injury. They will be led by young wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant who is in form of his life right now.

Chennai Super Kings are among the most popular IPL franchise and they have won the title three times. CSK did not qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history in IPL 2020. They would want to leave behind last season’s performance and make a fresh start this year.

Let’s look at important stats and numbers ahead of the second game of the Indian Premier League 2021:

Head to Head record: In the IPL history so far, both teams have played 23 games against each other. In these games, CSK have the upper hand winning 15 games while DC have emerged victorious in 8 matches.

59.83 – Chennai Super Kings are the most successful IPL team in terms of win percentage. They have won 106 of the 179 games they have played with a win percentage of 59.83, leading by few decimal points ahead of their competitor Mumbai Indians (59.11).

5 – Rishabh Pant will become the fifth-youngest IPL captain once he takes the field against CSK in the second match. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Steve Smith, and Suresh Raina became IPL captains at a lower age than Pant before.

9 – Shikhar Dhawan has hit 591 fours in his IPL career. He needs to hit 9 more fours to become the first player to complete 600 fours in IPL history.

3 – Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 3 consecutive fifties in his last 3 IPL matches. He won the player of the match awards in all these three games. CSK would hope that Gaikwad continues his good performance this season as well.
