Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have managed to reclaim their top spot in the points table in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team, led by MS Dhoni, beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

After electing to bat first, the Orange Army could only manage 171 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 20 overs. David Warner’s 57 and Manish Pandey’s 61 set the platform after which Kane Williamson’s 10-ball 26 took the Sunrisers to a respectable score.

Warner also completed 10,000 T20 runs and hit 200 IPL sixes, but his efforts went in vain. With the loss, SRH kept languishing at the bottom of the table with their fifth defeat. In the run-chase, the Sunrisers bowled looked out of sorts, to say the least.

Here are the CSK Player Ratings for the CSK vs SRH match:

Ruturaj Gaikwad- 9.5/10

Ruturaj Gaikwad oozed class as he scored 75 runs off 44 balls with the help of 12 fours. He played at a strike rate of 170.45 and picked the gaps without much fuss. Rashid Khan castled him to end his stay in the middle.

Faf du Plessis- 9/10

Faf du Plessis batted with precision in the powerplay and didn’t give up the ghost. The veteran scored 56 runs off 38 balls with six fours and one six. Rashid trapped him plumb in front to end his stay in the middle.

Moeen Ali- 6/10

Moeen Ali rolled his arms over for two overs and gave away 16 dots. With the bat in hand, he smashed three fours and looked ominous. But Rashid accounted for his wicket when he was batting on 15 runs.

Suresh Raina- 6/10

Suresh Raina had a bit of a struggle in the early part of his knock. But he stayed unbeaten on 17 runs off 15 balls, seeing his team over the finishing line. He smashed three fours and played at a strike rate of 113.33.

Ambati Rayudu- N/A

Ravindra Jadeja- 6/10

Ravindra Jadeja bowled three overs and showed his effectiveness. Though he couldn’t get a wicket, he bowled at a frugal economy rate of 7.66. With the bat in hand, he stayed unbeaten on seven runs.

MS Dhoni- 6/10

MS Dhoni didn’t get a chance to bat, but he was very effective as the leader. The 39-year-old made decent bowling changes and made sure that the Sunrisers couldn’t run away with the match.

Sam Curran- 8/10

Sam Curran didn’t give a whole lot of runs away with an economy rate of 7.50. In his four overs, he bowled nine dots and was hit for fours and one six. He also churned out the all-important wicket of Jonny Bairstow.

Shardul Thakur- 3/10

Shardul Thakur had an off day with the ball in hand. In four overs, he turned out to be the most expensive bowler for the Super Kings. He conceded only 44 runs at an economy of 11 and was hit for five fours and one six.

Deepak Chahar- 7/10

Deepak Chahar didn’t pick up a wicket in the three overs he bowled. However, he made sure of keeping the batters in check. In his spell, the fast bowler only conceded 21 runs and was hit for three fours.

Lungi Ngidi- 8/10

Lungi Ngidi bowled pretty well in his quota of four overs. He picked up the crucial wickets of David Warner and Manish Pandey in the same over. Moreover, the pacer only gave away 35 runs and was hit for three fours and one six.
