Again the bowlers ruled the show at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) becomes the first team to win two matches, on a trot, in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. Playing in the sixth match of the T20 Extravaganza, RCB registered a comprehensive win against Sunrisers Hyderabad by six runs owing to their disciplined bowling action.

Entering the contest, David Warner won the toss and invited Virat Kohli & Co. to bat first. Put to bat, the Challengers got off to a torrid start as they lost their opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal in the third over while he was playing at 11. Padikkal was soon followed by Shahbaz Ahmed, who came to bat at number three, as he lost his wicket to Shabaz Nadeem. 

Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell tried to stitch a partnership in the middle as the two collected 45 runs. However, a brilliant show by SRH bowlers meant that both the batters were under pressuring of scoring runs. In the 13th over, the RCB skipper lost his wicket and then started a collapse of the batting line-up.

However, Glenn Maxwell held his fort at one end and scored a stunning 59 runs off 41 deliveries to help the team post a decent total of 149 runs. For SRH, Jason Holder took three wickets while Rashid Khan had two under his belt.

Chasing 150, Hyderabad lost their opening batsman Wriddhiman Saha in the third over. But the captain David Warner led from the front and made SRH favorites to win the game by his sublime knock of 54 runs off 37 balls. However, Warner’s dismissal by Kyle Jamieson emerged as the turned point of the game. 

RCB made a comeback in the game in a stunning fashion as Shahbaz Ahmed took three wickets in the 17th over to rule out the opposition from the chase. This was followed by an equally brilliant death bowling by Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel.
