IPL 2021: MS Dhoni spotted chatting with Rahul Tripathi and Venkatesh Iyer after CSK vs KKR match

Though MS Dhoni has been just appointed the mentor of Team India for the T20 World Cup, the veteran has been already performing the role unofficially for the last couple of years in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He isn’t the mentor for any team but has been guiding several youngsters from the other franchises even as he is leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

To pick the brain of the genius is what a youngster wishes for to improve and who better than MS Dhoni to do it! CSK faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday afternoon and the teams were involved in a last-ball thriller. CSK prevailed eventually with Ravindra Jadeja helping them reach the target.

It has become a daily routine for the players now to chit chat with the cricketers from the other team after the game. And MS Dhoni is never behind when it comes to sharing tips to the youngsters who are doing well.

Iyer and Tripathi spoke to Dhoni after the match

The wicketkeeper-batsman was seen having a chat with two of the best KKR players in the second IPL leg so far, Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi. The duo did well with the bat for the team on the day but got out at the wrong time leaving the team in a little bit of trouble. Both were set and needed one of them to play a big knock to take KKR to a commendable total.

While Iyer scored 18 runs, Tripathi smashed 45 and probably MS Dhoni also told them about not giving away the wicket especially after getting set. CSK’s official Twitter handle shared the pictures of the duo listening carefully to what the veteran cricketer was saying.

As far as MS Dhoni is concerned, his batting prowess is certainly waning now. Varun Chakravarthy dismissed him yet again at a crucial stage on the day breaching his defenses. Many are pondering that this could be the last IPL season for Dhoni but CSK are hoping him to play for at least an year more.
