The UAE leg of the Indian Premier League 2021 is all set to kick off on September 19 and ahead of the tournament, Rajasthan Royals have released two of their players for Mumbai’s tour to Oman.  Mumbai is all set to tour Oman for a limited-overs series which will consist of three T20s and as many one-day matches.

Top-order batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and all-rounder Shivam Dube of Rajasthan Royals have been named in Mumbai 14-man squad that is all set to tour Oman. In the same light of events, the Chairman of Mumbai’s selection committee Salil Ankola requested the Royals to release them as all first-choice cricketers are busy with international or IPL commitments.

“The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) urged RR to release these players from their camp for this tour, and the franchise agreed in the interest of cricket. They will join RR in UAE after this tour,” said Ankola while speaking to The Times of India.

Mumbai to play 3 T20s and as many One-days on Oman tour

The squad will have to undergo a quarantine period of one day in Muscat before the matches take place. The T20s of Mumbai are scheduled to take place on August 22, 24, and 26 while the One-Days will see the light of the day on August 29, 31, and September 2.

The Mumbai squad has been gearing up for this tour together for over a month now and also had their motivating session with former legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. In the same light, Ankola also added that these matches will act as practice for the Mumbai squad ahead of their domestic season.

Jaiswal and Dube would join the Royals after their Oman tour

“It’s good that Oman invited us for this tour. Due to rain, no cricket has been possible in Mumbai. This tour will give our boys good match practice. It will help us prepare for the limited-overs leg of the domestic season,” added Ankola.

It has to be noted that Dube and Jaiswal will join the Rajasthan squad in the UAE after this tour ends and it will be beneficial for them as it will be played in the same conditions.
