IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals Full Schedule with Venue, Date, Match Timings and PDF Download

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be eyeing a fresh start in IPL 2021 when they return to action with a new captain and new head coach. RR had a disastrous campaign in IPL 2020 where they finished at the bottom after managing just 6 wins from 14 games. They started the tournament well enough, registering successive wins against Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings.

However, they then went on to lose four matches on the trot and their form never really recovered. In the end, they finished at the eighth spot. Following the poor season in the UAE, the franchise took some big decisions ahead of the upcoming season. They not only sacked Steve Smith as the captain of the team but also released him.

Sanju Samson has been named RR’s new captain. The inaugural IPL winners also parted ways with head coach Andrew McDonald and announced that they had drafted in former Zimbabwe cricketer Trevor Penney as the lead assistant coach for IPL 2021. With a new captain and a coach, RR will be desperate to make amends this season.

In this year’s auction, they bought the likes of Chris Morris, Shivam Dube, Mustafizur Rahman, and Liam Livingstone. With the likes of Samson, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer already in the squad, RR have a strong team.

Rajasthan Royals’ schedule for IPL 2021

The BCCI announced the schedule for IPL 2021 on Sunday (March 7). As expected, the tournament will be not played in the home and away format due to the testing times amid the pandemic.  The entire competition will be held across six venues – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the playoffs and the final as well as eight league games. In the first game of the season, defending champions Mumbai Indians will be up against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9 in Chennai. As far as RR are concerned, they will open their campaign on April 12 against Punjab Kings in Mumbai.

They will play their first five league games in Mumbai before moving to Delhi for the next four games. The Rajasthan-based outfit will play their next three league games in Kolkata before flying to Bangalore for the last two league games.
