Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This law of physics was displayed in Ravichandran Ashwin’s behavior during the recently-concluded IPL 2021 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals in Sharjah. The veteran off-spinner dismissed Eoin Morgan for a duck after getting involved in a heated argument with him. With Ashwin winning the battle of egos, he was ecstatic and the same was evident in his celebration.

It all started during the 20th over of DC’s innings which Tim Southee was bowling. The Kiwi pacer gave a mouthful to Ashwin after dismissing him in the first ball of the ever. Southee’s remarks didn’t amuse the Indian cricketer and he decided to give it back to the bowler. This is where things heated up even further as Morgan also said something to Ashwin.

The 34-year-old looked even more exasperated with Morgan’s comments as he started walking towards him to have a discussion. However, KKR keeper Dinesh Karthik ended the altercation by quickly stopping Ashwin and sending him back to the pavilion. However, the battle didn’t end here as Ashwin got a chance to bowl against the KKR skipper in the second innings.

The Indian bowler showcased his brilliance and dismissed Morgan for a two-ball duck. It was a classic dismissal from the off-spinner as the ball spun away from Morgan after hitting the turf. As a result, the England international could only edge the ball and Lalit Yadav took a fine catch at slips.

Ashwin went on seventh heaven after dismissing Morgan as he unleashed an animated celebration. He also seemed to have said something to the left-handed batter while running towards his teammate. This way the off-spinner had the last laugh. However, his efforts weren’t enough to save DC from a three-wicket defeat at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The Delhi-based outfit was let down by their batters in this game as they could only manage  127/9 while batting first. Although the target didn’t look massive, KKR’s chase wasn’t smooth by any means. They lost wickets at regular intervals and kept Delhi interested. However, they eventually crossed the line in 18.2 overs, winning the game by three wickets.
