The eleventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) is currently in progress at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Winning the toss, the Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant opted to bowl, mentioning the presence of dew later, which could make it tougher for the bowlers to find control. At the Wankhede Stadium this year, only one time a team has successfully defended.
On a Head-to-Head count in the history of IPL of these two sides, the Punjab Kings have been the superior team, winning 15 as compared to Delhi’s 11 wins in a total of 26 meetings. Former India cricketer, Punjab player, and the CricTracker expert V R V Singh reckons that the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will be able to take an edge over KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings in this encounter and register their second win of the season.
Speaking at CricTracker’s live show ‘In The Air’, Singh reckoned that he would pick DC over PBKS mentioning their bowling attack, which includes the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Chris Woakes, Avesh Khan, and Ravi Ashwin. Singh further backed DC’s batting unit to dominate over their opponents. “I will pick Delhi Capitals over Punjab tonight. I feel Delhi’s batting unit will fire. They had a brilliant opening partnership, and that might happen again, I feel.”
On Delhi’s bowling attack, Singh said “They have some great bowlers in the lineup and I expect them to put pressure on Punjab’s batting. Delhi has bowled well in the tournament and if they can control the batsmen then the chances are high for them to win. Even batting, they have attacking batsmen like Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw.”
