Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera have been issued a No Objection Certificate from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to play in the Indian Premier League next month. The IPL 2021 is all set to resume in the UAE from September 19. Several players have opted out of IPL owing to varied reasons. Thus, the franchises had to put their thinking hats on to find the replacements.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had earlier announced the signing of Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera for the remainder of the IPL. Both the players have been roped in as the replacements for Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams respectively. Both the Sri Lanka players put up some impressive performances in the white-ball series against India.

However, the two players were yet to get their no-objection certificates from the Sri Lanka Cricket board. But now, the Sri Lankan cricketers have been given the green signal to participate in the IPL, as reported by The Papare Sports.

Virat Kohli aiming for maiden IPL trophy

The second leg of the IPL 2021 will start with the arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians locking horns against each other. The Virat Kohli-led side will resume its campaign on September 20 when they will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi. Unlike every year, RCB has had an impressive first half of the tournament this season.

They are placed in the third position of the points table with five victories from seven matches. Harshal Patel stood out for the team with the ball. He is currently the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 17 wickets under his sleeves. He has ticked the massive box of death bowling for the side which the team was struggling with in the past.

Also, the attacking display with the bat by Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers had enabled the team to solve their middle-order woes. Up the order, Devdutt Padikkal has been a promising player for RCB and has delivered for the side. Thus heading into the remainder of the tournament, RCB will have their spirits high to continue their winning momentum.

Now, with the new inclusions of leg-spinner Hasaranga and pacer Chameera, it will be interesting to look out how the team makes the most out of the form they both possess right now.
