The RCB team’s bowling strategy didn’t work out in the first fixture as the Punjab Kings managed to chase down their total in 19 overs. The captain Faf du Plessis was late to bring the key bowlers Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel into the bowling attack. The opposition openers had scored 60+ runs by then in the powerplay overs.

Hasaranga came in the eighth over, and immediately dismissed Mayank Agarwal who was going all guns blazing. But, with the platform set by Mayank and Dhawan, the batters coming in next played without pressure to chase the score down easily.

The leading wicket-taker of the World T20 2021 with 16 dismissals in eight matches, Hasaranga has been terrific in the recent matches with the new ball and can open the floodgates with his line and lengths.
