In the 7th match of IPL 2022, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on the Lucknow Super Giants. Both the teams suffered losses in their first game and would be searching for their first win in this game. CSK were defeated by KKR in the season opener by six wickets. Batting first, the Ravindra Jadeja-led team could score only 131 runs for the loss of five wickets. They managed to reach this score due to a 50*(38) by former captain MS Dhoni. None of the other batters could score over 30 runs for CSK. Only Robin Uthappa and Dhoni scored runs at a strike rate of over 100. CSK will have the option to bring in Moeen Ali, who missed the first game.
LSG lost their first game against the Gujarat Titans by five wickets after scoring 158 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. This was a close contest, and LSG lost due to some tactical errors they committed. Sri Lankan bowler Dushmantha Chameera, who made his IPL debut in that match, picked up 2 wickets in the powerplay. But, LSG’s captain KL Rahul didn’t allow Chameera to complete his spell of four overs. Also, LSG’s top order, which contains some of the biggest names, failed to make an impact.
Here are 3 players you can avoid in your fantasy teams for the LSG vs CSK game:
1. Shivam Dube
CSK shelled out INR 4 crores to pick the services of Shivam Dube during the 2022 auction. They had to fight a tough battle against teams like Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Punjab Kings. Dube made his debut for CSK in the match against KKR and was dismissed by Andre Russell for three runs. He bowled one over and gave away 11 runs. You can avoid Dube and look for some other all-rounders.
2. Evin Lewis
Lucknow Super Giants purchased Evin Lewis for his base price. Lewis is one of the most dangerous batters in the shortest format of the game. Lewis came out to bat at number 3 in the first game and scored 10 runs off 9 deliveries. He has scored over 1400 runs in 50 T20Is for West Indies while opening the innings and has never batted for the team in any other position. LSG might not get the best out of him if he continues to bat at this position. Hence, you can avoid him for this game.
3. Mitchell Santner
CSK are highly likely to bring in Moeen Ali for this game which means that Santner would have to sit out. Santner has been a part of the CSK set-up since 2019 but has managed to play only 5 matches only. He didn’t play a single game for the defending champions in the last two seasons, and that might happen this year as well. You can avoid Santner and pick Moeen in your fantasy teams.
