The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had got off to the worst possible start to their campaign, losing four games on the trot in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Making the situation worse was the news of Deepak Chahar’s back injury and him being ruled out of IPL 2022. However, the Ravindra Jadeja and Co. have finally broken the four-match losing streak.

They are back with the bang winning their previous match against RCB. CSK found themselves in murky waters early in the season but their performance has raised the hopes of their fans. These are still early days in the tournament. Ruling out the chances of CSK qualifying for the playoffs would be immature at this point. The way ahead looks difficult for CSK, and it’s an apt time for the plentiful loyal fans to back them.

Here are 3 Reasons Why CSK Can Still Qualify for the Playoffs:

1- Robin Uthappa returning to form

Robin Uthappa was KKR’s biggest weapon in the league’s previous edition. He was one of KKR’s stars in the title winning efforts in 2012 and 2014. He was the top scorer as well as the “Orange cap” holder in 2014. However, this season he failed to score big in the first four matches. However, he kept getting starts.

In what is a positive sign for the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Robin Uthappa played a tremendous knock in the previous match. He scored 88 runs off just 50 balls against RCB. In doing so, he announced himself again making a strong statement.

As we know about his reputation as a slow starter from the previous editions, he has raised the hopes of fans. In-form Uthappa will give a huge boost to the CSK’s batting line-up which has been suffering in the tournament so far. CSK would want Uthappa to bat in the same fashion now for the rest of the season.
