Delhi Capitals bowler Chetan Sakariya wishes to bowl to Gujarat Titans’ Rahul Tewatia in the death overs, as he expressed his desire on social media. Tewatia led his team to victory in a thrilling game against the Punjab Kings on April 8, by smashing two sixes off the last two balls of the game.

It was probably one of the most exciting games that the IPL 2022 has witnessed so far. GT required 19 runs off the last over, and Odean Smith had the responsibility with the ball. PBKS wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow successfully dismissed GT skipper Hardik Pandya, making it difficult for them to chase.

It was Tewatia’s heroics in the last two balls of the game when he hit Smith for two huge sixes to win the game at the last moment. After witnessing his class act, commentator Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to talk about the game as he tweeted: “Some game this! Who would want to bowl to Tewatia at the death!!”

To this, Sakariya replied that he would want to do it. He replied “Me” with a devil face emoji as Harsha acknowledged it and said- “Haha, I am sure. Cheers.”

Sakariya moved to Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2022

Sakariya had made his entry to IPL last year when he played with the Rajasthan Royals. His performance grabbed everyone’s attention and the young lad received the deserved recognition. The 24-year-old left-arm pacer from Saurashtra had a very emotional background story before coming into the IPL. In his very first game, against the Punjab Kings, he picked up three wickets with an impressive economy of 7.75. The three big wickets included names like Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, and Nicholas Pooran.

Set at a base price of INR 50 lakh during the mega auction this year, three teams fought hard to get him into the team. The bidding war took place between RCB and RR initially, before DC jumped in and won the bid for INR 4.20 crore. He also received his national call-up when a bunch of new players toured Sri Lanka last year under the guidance of Rahul Dravid.
