Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans face each other in the 16th match of IPL 2022, to be played at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Gujarat Titans have won both their games of this season. After finishing at the sixth place in IPL 2021, Punjab Kings have begun this season with two wins and one loss. In this season, Gujarat Titans will be playing their first match at Brabourne Stadium, while Punjab Kings have defeated CSK by a huge margin of 54 runs in their last match at this very ground.

After Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan a 71-run opening partnership against RCB, they couldn’t live up to the promise in the next two matches. Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s scores of 43 (22), 31 (9), and 9 (5) resembled more of a finisher, though he batted at No.3. At No.4, Liam Livingstone batted well this season, while he scored a 32-ball-60 at the same ground. Punjab Kings leg-spinner Rahul Chahar performed brilliantly this season, while their other bowlers were inconsistent.

Though Gujarat Titans have won both their matches, their batting consistency remains a question. It would have been a different picture if not for fabulous knocks by Rahul Tewatia in game one and Shubman Gill in game two. They don’t have anything else to boast with the bat. The bowling attack with the main exponents in Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, and Lockie Ferguson started the season really well, and they will be a challenge to any team.
