Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians will face each other in the 18th match of IPL 2022, to be played at MCA International Stadium in Pune. The team with five titles, MI, finished fifth place last season, while RCB reached the eliminator. Coming to the current season, RCB began with two wins and one loss, while MI is yet to open their account. RCB will be playing their first match at Pune, while Mumbai Indians lost against KKR in their previous match at the same venue.
After Faf du Plessis’ brilliance in the first match, only the lower-middle order pair of Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed produced good knocks with the bat. The RCB bowlers were good in the Powerplay but their inability to restrict runs at the death overs continues in the fresh season. The 2021 Purple Cap winner Harshal Patel continues his remarkable form, and Wanindu Hasaranga has also been among the wickets. They seek a better bowling display from the pacers. Skipper Rohit Sharma would hope that his team kick starts the campaign finally with a victory against the Royal Challengers who are flying high after their thrilling win over Rajasthan Royals.
