Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants will be facing each other in the 24th match of IPL 2022, to be played at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. While Mumbai Indians finished fifth place last IPL season, Lucknow Super Giants are playing in their inaugural season. Mumbai Indians haven’t yet opened their account with five losses in five games, while Lucknow Super Giants have won three and lost two matches this season. Both the teams will be playing their second match at Brabourne this season, with MI losing to DC, and LSG defeating CSK at the ground.
The opening pair of Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul have played good knocks for LSG this season, combined with the finishing powers of Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni. The bowling this season is a combination of wicket-takers in Avesh Khan and Jason Holder, along with economical bowlers in Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya.
The form of the opening batters Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan is a concern for the Mumbai Indians. However, Suryakumar Yadav, along with teenagers Dewald Brevis and Tilak Varma, has put up exceptional performances for them. Barring Jasprit Bumrah, the bowling has not been up to the mark for Mumbai Indians and they need to be improving on it to get off the mark this season.
