IPL 2022: Nitish Rana sets a new hairstyle trend with purple and gold-colored streaks depicting KKR

Nitish Rana has changed his hairstyle ahead of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His team Kolkata Knight Riders posted a photo of their middle-order batter setting a new hairstyle trend with purple and gold-coloured streaks on it which are two colours that have been strongly associated with the franchise.

Rana wasn’t retained by KKR ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, however, they managed to bag his services for INR 8 Crore after a bidding war alongside Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants. The left-handed batter had a prolific start to the previous IPL season but lost his way in the middle to end up with 383 runs in 16 innings at an average of 29.46 with two half-centuries.

He kept making the important contributions in the middle and played different roles in the side to get the franchise into the finals last season. He can also roll his arm over with some useful off-spin and can be counted as an all-rounder who can chip in if needed.

Rana’s impressive stint with KKR in the previous edition earned him a maiden call up to the Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour and he went on to make his debut in both T20I and ODI formats. He could not have the same impact he had in IPL, but definitely has the goods to excel in the longer run. Rana is likely to bat at the number four position this year for KKR, with skipper Shreyas Iyer coming in at three.

Coming back to his hairstyle, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ official Instagram handle posted the new hairstyle of Rana that might well go on to be the trend for this IPL. Rana has played 77 IPL games so far scoring 1820 runs at an average of 28.4 with an impressive strike rate of 132.5. He is one of the versatile batters going around in India at the moment and brings a left-handed option into the mix as well.
