IPL 2022: Shubman Gill imitates Sunil Narine's bowling action in the nets

The new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) are on a roll, in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The Titans have won five out of six matches they have played so far and are in first place at the points table. They have presented themselves as one of the strongest teams for the title in this edition.
Opener Shubman Gill who has also played his part scoring 200 runs in six innings, will want to do well against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during their next group stage match. To note, Gill was part of the two-time champions squad for the past four years and was released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction. As a result, he was signed up by the Gujarat Titans for INR eight crore before the auction.
The 22-year-old who used to open alongside Sunil Narine during the early days of his career was seen trying to imitate the West Indies veteran’s bowling action in the nets. He managed to do it perfectly having watched his action in the nets over the years. Gujarat Titans’ official handle posted the video on Instagram ahead of their game against KKR that is set to be played on Saturday (April 23).

Shubman Gill endured a poor debut for GT as he was sent packing for a duck during his first game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, the young batter made an excellent comeback in the next two matches against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), Gill showed his class and scored 84 and 96 runs, respectively.
But in the last three matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the batter has not managed to score runs. He also bagged a golden duck during the game against the defending champions CSK.
GT will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 23 (Saturday) during an afternoon encounter. It will be the very first meeting between the two sides, and Gill will be eager to make a comeback. Talking about his numbers in IPL, he has played 64 matches in which he has amassed 1617 runs at an average of 31.71. Gill has also stroked 12 fifties and his highest score is 96.
