IPL 2022: Updated Points Table, Orange and Purple Cap lists after KKR vs SRH
KKR bashed the Orange Army in their group stage match of IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) completed a comfortable victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a group stage match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. KKR star player Andre Russell was adjudged the Player of the Match for his excellent performance with both bat and ball.
KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to have a bat first. Openers Venkatesh Iyer and senior player Ajinkya Rahane failed to give a decent start to the KKR innings as a pair. However, Rahane played a handy innings of 28 runs. The left-handed batter Nitish Rana also played a short but sweet knock. Skipper Shreyas Iyer also contributed to the total.
Wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings also played a decent knock and then the West Indian big-hitting all-rounder Russell gave an excellent finish to the two-time champions, KKR.
SRH surrendered in their second innings
In reply, the SRH openers skipper Kane Williamson and youngster Abhishek Sharma started well. However, they could not get going. Williamson was scalped by the Player of the Match, Andre Russell. Former KKR batter Rahul Tripathi followed suit.
South African batter Aiden Markram (32) and Abhishek Sharma (43) gave their best for the former champions. However, none of the batters supported them as KKR won the contest comfortably by 54 runs.
For KKR, every bowler got wickets. Umesh Yadav (one wicket), Tim Southee (two wickets), Sunil Narine (one wicket), Russell (three wickets), and Varun Chakaravarthy (one wicket) were all successful bowlers.
After winning tonight’s encounter, KKR reach the sixth spot in the points table, and SRH are placed at the eighth spot. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans (First), Lucknow Super Giants (Second), Rajasthan Royals (Third), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (Fourth) complete the top four teams in the points table.
