Ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), veteran Chennai Super Kings (CSK) allrounder Dwayne Bravo has paid his gratitude to former CSK skipper MS Dhoni. It is to be noted that the wicketkeeper-batter has decided to step down from the captaincy role and hand over the baton to Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Bravo, in a post shared on Instagram, wrote that Dhoni’s legacy will live on forever. The veteran allrounder also wished new skipper Ravindra Jadeja the best to take forward the legacy of the World Cup and IPL-winning captain.

It’s your time Sir: Dwayne Bravo to Ravindra Jadeja

“Thank You for everything @mahi7781 your legacy will live on forever!! #Brother. Chennai Super Kings couldn’t ask for a better person to take over @ravindra.jadeja congratulations! it’s your time Sir!” Bravo wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the West Indies allrounder has been an integral part of the yellow army since 2011. To note, Bravo was purchased back by CSK in the IPL 2022 mega auction at a cost of INR 4.4 crore. The 38-year-old allrounder has been Dhoni’s go-to man, especially during the death overs. Bravo has also contributed with the bat while playing for the yellow army.

Talking about Bravo’s numbers in the IPL, the 38-year-old has played a total of 151 matches in which he has scored 1537 runs with a decent average of 22.94. The right-handed batter plays with a strike rate of 130.25 and has five fifties to his name. In bowling, Bravo has scalped 167 wickets with his economy rate being 8.36. The right-arm pacer has a number of slower balls in his arsenal and can choke the opposition for runs during the death overs.

Meanwhile, the defending champions will start off their campaign against last year’s finalist Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The match will be played on March 26 (Saturday) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It is going to be a cracker of a contest to start the 15th edition of the gala competition.
