IPL 9: Points table, Purple Cap, Orange Cap and fixtures after the KKR v RCB Match 30

The IPL 9 is half way through and the race to make it to the playoffs is getting intense. Kolkata Knight Riders registered a crucial win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore to jump back to the second spot in the points table with 10 points. RCB, on the other hand, did no good to their position in the points table and still languish in the bottom four of the points table with 5 defeats now.
Gujarat Lions sit comfortably at the top spot with 12 points and Mumbai Indians are placed at the 3rd spot with 10 points, though they have played an extra game.

Virat Kohli has regained the Orange Cap despite his team’s poor performance in the last match. Kohli scored 52 against the Kolkata Knight Riders to take his total to 433 runs in 7 matches at an average of 72.16. David Warner slipped to the 2nd spot with 386 runs in 7 matches. Kolkata Knight Riders skipper got yet another good start to his team and has now risen to the 4th spot.
Gujarat Lions skipper Suresh Raina will have his opportunity to climb up the ladder in the match against Delhi Daredevils.

Mumbai Indians spearhead Mitch McClenaghan picked up a wicket against RPS to continue his reign at the top spot with 13 wickets. He is followed by his teammate Jasprit Bumrah, who rose to the second spot following a 3-wicket haul against the RPS. Mohit Sharma, too, bagged 3 wickets against the Gujarat Lions to rise to the 3rd spot in the leading wicket-takers column. RCB bowler Shane Watson and KKR bowlers Umesh Yadav rose to 8th and 5th position respectively after picking up a wicket each when RCB played KKR at home.
