IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. Gujarat Lions sit comfortably at the top of the points table with 14 points. They need just one more win to qualify for the playoffs. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have 12 points each and a better net run rate gives the Sunrisers an edge over the Knights. Sunrisers will go to the top of the points table if they beat the Rising Pune Supergiants tonight.

Royal Challengers Bangalore moved the 6th spot after their win over the bottom-placed Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI Punjab continues to languish at the bottom of the points table.
