IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. Rising Pune Supergiants and the Kings XI Punjab are the only teams that are out of the race for the playoffs. RPS will take on KXIP today at Vizag. All other teams have their chances to make it to the playoffs. Delhi Daredevils defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Raipur and have managed to stay alive in the tournament. Sunrisers, on the other hand, will have to wait another day to make it to the top two.

Mumbai Indians will clash with the Gujarat Lions tonight. If Gujarat Lions win today, they will make it to the top two. If Mumbai Indians win, they will keep themselves alive in the tournament and will have to wait for the results of the tomorrow’s game.

Mitch McClenaghan continues to lead the Purple Cap list with 17 wickets despite failing to pick up a wicket against the Delhi Daredevils. He will be in action tonight against the Gujarat Lions. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at the 2nd spot though he went wicketless last night against the Delhi Daredevils. He has bagged 16 wickets so far. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s leggie Yuzvendra Chahal leapfrogged to the 3rd spot after bagging a 4-wicket haul against the Kings XI Punjab.

His teammate Shane Watson bagged a couple of wickets too, and is now placed on the 4th spot with 16 wickets to his name. It is the better economy rate of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, which gives him the 2nd spot over Chahal and Watson.
