Afghanistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nabi’s experience in T20 cricket has made him one of the hottest properties in the Indian Premier League. Not only can Nabi be a handy bowler, but also could build the innings for any franchise.
The Afghani all-rounder has scored over 846 runs in the 57 matches that he has played at the International level. Nabi’s highest score of 89 runs came against Ireland earlier last year, at Greater Noida in Afghanistan’s victory over the European opponents.
Despite the failure in the first two T20I’s against the Windies side, the right-hander came back strong in the third game with a score of 38 runs. With the ball, the offie picked up two wickets in the three-match series against Windies. However, later in the year, the right-handed batsman formed the nucleus of the Melbourne Renegades side.
In the crucial encounter against rivals Melbourne Stars, he scored a match-winning 52 runs which came off just 30 deliveries to get him the Man of the Match award.
After impressing the critics in Australia, the Afghan all-rounder was placed in the IPL Auction at 50 lakhs after playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2017 edition of the league.
The 2018 IPL Auction:
In an intense bid-off war between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Kolkata Knight Riders, it was the 2016 IPL Champions who retained the services of the all-rounder at Rs 1 crore. An ecstatic Rabi posted how delighted the all-rounder is after the Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to get him back into the squad.

He posted on Twitter, “Really happy to be part of @SunRisers and thanks from @TomMoodyCricket @VVSLaxman281 @murli sir”. Apart from the Afghani all-rounder, the Sunrisers also managed to capture the services of the young leggie Rashid Khan who they managed to get with the RTM card.
It would, however, to be seen if the all-rounder fits into the playing XI for the side led by David Warner, and coached by fellow Australian Tom Moody.
