We are picking all players from the Punjab Kings team for this match.

The eighth match in this IPL 2021 season will start at 7:30 PM IST between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mumbai. In this article, let us discuss the Season Long Fantasy League team setup for Match 8.

So far, we were not in favor of making too many transfers for a match. However, we will be making four transfers (+ one uncapped) in our season fantasy team for this match. We actually save the transfers in previous matches, to make use of them in these kind of matches. Let us see why.

Punjab Kings plays two matches in four days span. The next match (match 9)  is between SRH and MI. We have four players from SRH and MI in our fantasy team already. After match 9, SRH are taking a five-match break and MI are taking a four-match break. So, we do not want to make any transfers for match nine. Due to all these logistics, we can easily carry forward the players from Punjab Kings to their next match.

Mumbai was a batting paradise so far. However, in the last match between RR and DC, bowlers did very well too.  For this match, we will have only players from Punjab Kings Team in our fantasy team, and will include players from both batting and bowling departments.

Players available for the Current Match: None

Number of Transfers: Four (+ One uncapped)

Number of transfers Remaining: 96

Transfer Out:

Sanju Samson (RR),  Manan Vohra (RR): RR has a five-match gap for the next match. So, all RR players can be transferred out.

Shikhar Dhawan (DC), Prithvi Shaw (DC): DC plays their next match in a four-match span. And we will not be able to carry these players till that match. So, all DC players can be transferred out.

Varun Chakravarthy (KKR): We have Chetan Sakariya (RR) and Varun Chakravarthy (KKR) in our season fantasy team. Our ideal choice is to move out Chetan Sakariya (RR) as RR has a five-match gap and KKR has a three-match gap. However, Chetan Sakariya comes at a very low price (6 Fantasy Credits) and that allows us to have more players from Punjab Kings Team. So, we are transferring out Varun Chakravarthy.

Transfer In:

KL Rahul (PBKS): We know how much fantasy teams suffered when they did not go with KL Rahul in the last match against RR. We can not afford to play Punjab matches, without KL Rahul in our fantasy team.

Mayank Agarwal (PBKS): Mayank Agarwal disappointed in the last match. If he rediscovers his mojo of the last season against the easier bowling attacks like CSK on the batting-friendly surfaces like Wankhede, it will be raining fantasy points.

Chris Gayle (PBKS): Chris Gayle is unpredictable. Even if he stays for a short while at the crease, we will get minimum fantasy points from him. Against less threatening bowling attacks like CSK, we only wish him to stay longer and blast everything.

Jhye Richardson (PBKS): Jhye was not up to the expectations in the last match and Mohd. Shami was brilliant. So, our first choice pick was Shami. However, we could not accommodate Shami in our fantasy team as he is expensive by 0.5 Credits.

Here’s our Fantasy team:

KL Rahul (C), Mayank Agarwal (VC), Chris Gayle, Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, David Warner, Krunal Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Chetan Sakariya, Jhye Richardson, T Natarajan

Uncapped Transfer In:

Arshdeep Singh (PBKS): We have roped in top three batsmen in our fantasy team. It’s good to add the bowlers to the fantasy team. Arshdeep had a good outing in the last match against Rajasthan Royals.

Captain: KL Rahul (PBKS)

Vice Captain: Mayank Agarwal (PBKS)

Note: There can be slight changes in the fantasy team based on the teams announced after the toss and any other news.
