The IPL 2020 is still quite some time away but it always manages to stay in the news for a variety of reasons ranging from issues on the releasing of its full schedule, the recent announcement of an All-Star game that will see franchises belonging to the North and Eastern region of the country- Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab- will lock horns with the franchises belonging to the southern and western part- Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians.

The hustle around the Indian Premier League as well as world cricket is well covered by the franchises via their social media accounts. The social media handles usually come up with intriguing content which tends to keep the fans hooked and on Tuesday, the likes of Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab came up with their own versions of movie posters that were nominated in the recently held 92nd Academy Awards [Oscars].

Rajasthan Royals has one of the wittiest social media accounts which frequently comes up with brilliant content which includes hilarious memes, infographics, and pictures. The Royals shared a poster of their star cricketers like Shane Watson [Member of the 2008 IPL winning Rajasthan Royals outfit], former captain Rahul Dravid and the leader who won them the IPL title: champion leg-spinner Shane Warne. The poster also included Yusuf Pathan and Graeme Smith, both of whom were part of the inaugural IPL win.

The Capitals too joined the bandwagon and shared a poster that features their current spearheads in Prithvi Shaw, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, captain Shreyas Iyer and the former member of their set-up, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Andre Russell.

Kings XI Punjab’s poster looked like a sneak-peak into their future as it featured the highest wicket-taker of the recently-held ICC U19 World Cup, the newest leg-spinning sensation Ravi Bishnoi.

Bishnoi, whose story from being an U16 and U19 trial reject to becoming the heartbeat of the Indian bowling unit; one who almost led them to title glory courtesy his spell of 4/30 in ten overs is an epitome of unrelenting hard work and perseverance, will be turning out for KXIP in the upcoming IPL season after he was racked by the Anil Kumble-coached franchise for Rs 2 Crore [base price- Rs 20 Lakh].
