Ireland will host Afghanistan for a five-match T20I series starting from the 9th of August. With the T20 World Cup 2022 coming up in two months’ time, both teams will know the importance of the upcoming series and the players will be looking to regain their form.

Ireland have lost all their last three home T20I series starting with a 0-2 loss to India. followed by a whitewash at the hands of New Zealand in both the ODI series and T20I series. The latest defeat was the 0-2 loss to South Africa in a two-match T20I series. However, they have been putting up some good performances with the bat and a lot more will be expected from them.

On the other hand, Afghanistan are playing their first series after whitewashing Zimbabwe in June in both T20Is and ODIs. The skipper Mohammad Nabi has got immense experience in the format and he will fancy his side to win the series against Ireland given their improved performances around the world.
