Recently, many cricketers have been the victims to the social media trolls. The latest target was the Baroda’s left-arm fast bowler Irfan Pathan. Earlier, Irfan had posted a picture of himself celebrating the traditional Indian festival, “Rakshabandhan” wearing a Rakhi. Many people on the social media were not happy with the pacer’s actions as it is against the traditions of his religion Islam.

However, the fast bowler was not worried about what everyone else said. He rather thanked the people who support and cheer for him. It is not the first time that the all-rounder has been criticized on the social media. Earlier, the cricketer fell prey to social media trolls after posting a photo with his wife Safa Baig. He replied all the people gracefully and with love on the social media.

“I always believe there are lots of friends and fans who love and respect me and that are the most important thing for me,” Pathan remarked, as quoted by ANI.

“I always make sure I keep my dignity and I don’t go overboard. I don’t use foul language,” Pathan added.

Haters will be there every time

He further stated that in the modern world, there would be many people who will criticize meaningful actions. “There are always going to be haters. There are always going to be some people who will say negative about you. And my reaction is not for them,” Pathan revealed.

“I don’t even tag them when I reply to them because I don’t want to give anything to them. I will always react with love,” Pathan added.

Very careful on social media

The cricketer still maintains his dignity despite the criticism and stays away from the negativity on the social media. “I always manage social media very carefully,” said the quick bowler.

“You need to be careful because there are a lot of fake accounts. And yes, there are people with real accounts as well and they express their opinions in terms of talking negative about certain things,” he concluded.
