Rohit Sharma is perhaps the biggest driving force behind making Mumbai Indians the most successful team in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) so far. Mumbai Indians were struggling in the initial years of the league and bought Rohit Sharma in 2011. But their fortunes eventually changed in 2013 when they handed the captaincy to the star batsman midway through the season.

In his very first season, he led the franchise to its first-ever IPL title. Since then, MI won three more titles to become the most successful team in the league. Mumbai Indians are the first and only team so far to win the IPL four times. Chennai Super Kings are second in the list with three titles.

Rohit Sharma has looked at home with Mumbai Indians. While he was a good performer for Deccan Chargers in the first three years of IPL, India’s limited-overs vice-captain has turned out to be a far better player for his home side. The right-handed batsman is looking set to serve the franchise for a long time. The way Mumbai Indians are performing in recent years, it would not be very surprising if Rohit bows out of IPL as the most successful captain.

Samaira’s love for yellow

While Rohit Sharma has been a very influential captain for Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings believe that his daughter Samaira is their fan. The Super Kings posted about it when they came across a photo on Instagram where Samaira could be seen wearing a yellow dress. They hilariously called it Ambush Marketing and tweeted: “Hitman’s little one hitting it out of the park for us! #WhistlePodu #Yellove”

Mumbai Indians and Super Kings, meanwhile, are the fiercest rivals in the league. Both the teams locked horns in this year’s IPL final where the former edged out CSK in a thriller to win their fourth IPL title. The Mumbai-based outfit became the first team to win the IPL four times. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have locked horns in an IPL final thrice and the Mumbai-based outfit has won on every occasion with Rohit Sharma at the helm.
