Many of the Indian cricketers are quite active on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Players like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja often take to social media to connect with fans and share moments from their personal lives. This time around, it is Indian bowler Ishant Sharma who is shining on Instagram for a new post he put up with his pet.

The pacer posted a picture with his with his pet resting on his shoulders yesterday. He captioned the picture: Pet-Time@Home. Hey all Pet Lovers, Pls do share your pictures with your beloved pets, too!  A lot of Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh seem to be fond of pets, and now Ishant Sharma too has joined that list with his latest upload.

A few weeks ago, Ishant had posted a boomerang image on his Instagram in which he was with the ladies, making funny faces that were reminiscent of the faces he made to Steve Smith made during India’s Test series against Australia when not all was good between the Indian and the Australian captain. It was the second of the five-match Test series and India were trailing Australia 1-0. Smith was at the crease and Sharma made that face.

Ishant was not selected in the Indian squad that ended up as the runners-up of the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2017. But he is leaving no stone unturned to make his presence felt. It can be fondly recalled that when India won the Champions Trophy in 2013, Ishant took two wickets in the final at Edgbaston and was instrumental in India lifting the Cup by beating the hosts.

Sharma hasn’t been a part of the ODI side since his last game against Australia on January 23, 2016, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. But he continues to be a very integral part of the Tests setup.
