Australians are struggling miserably against the wrist spinners in the ongoing ODI series. They have been extremely poor against the young Indian wrist spinners. We have seen Australia dominate the spinners in the past that is not the case this time around. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been fantastic.

Both the spinners have taken apart the Australians in the first two ODIs. Chahal and Yadav have accounted for 10 wickets thus far. In the first game, Chahal did the damage by taking three wickets while Kuldeep snatched two. And in the second game, the roles reversed as Yadav delivered three wickets by taking a hat-trick and Chahal grabbed a couple.

The makeshift Indian opener Ajinkya Rahane also talked about the young spinners. He said that he likes to live in the present when asked about his place in the future when Dhawan returns to the squad. He likes to complete the job at hand and not fog his mind with silly thoughts.

“I think of staying in the present. The idea is to stick to my game plan and play my best. Every time you can’t score 100, at times, there are crucial 45-50s. When Shikhar comes we don’t know what will happen. My job is to perform well,” he said.

Backs Manish and Kedar

Rahane said that when anyone in the team is struggling the team management always supports them. He stressed on the fact that there are moments in everyone’s career when you don’t score runs and sometimes when you score a lot of runs. Pandey and Jadhav are quality players and they will come good with time.

“They did well in Sri Lanka… The team management is backing Manish and Kedar… Sometimes you get runs, sometimes you don’t. Team management supporting them,” the Mumbaikar added.
