At a time when everyone is out, voicing their speculations regarding the highly mysterious future of MS Dhoni in international cricket, it can’t really be said that who is correct and who is wrong. While it is clear that MS will be playing the year’s Indian Premier League, his international career still remains doubtful. And, joining the bandwagon of guessing MS Dhoni’s future, Harbhajan Singh also voiced his opinion on his former team India teammate’s future.

Recently, clearing a little air on MS’ future and giving his fans a ray of hope to see him play more, team India had said that Dhoni had conveyed his decision to the dressing room. Adding to this, he had also told, a good IPL could also lead to Dhoni’s election in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The former Indian skipper had last played international cricket in July last year and since then, he has not featured in any international matches. He was also dropped from the annual list of contracted players by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Harbhajan Singh believes it’s the end of the road for MS Dhoni

Harbhajan is sure that Dhoni has played his last match for India and it was a matter of time before he announces his retirement. “It is probably the end of the road for MS Dhoni. I heard the World Cup would be his last event for India – after that he won’t play for India again. He had made up his mind long back and that is why he has not made himself available,” said Harbhajan as quoted by IndiaToday.

Harbhajan also added that as far as he knows Dhoni, even if he has a great IPL, which he will for sure due to the hard work he puts in, he has taken the call and will not be playing for India ever again. And, given how the dots line up at the moment, Harbhajan’s statement can, unfortunately, be true.

This news must come around as a heart-breaking one for the fans, but it had to happen one day and that day has come. Now, with his retirement announcement around the corner, it will be interesting to the manner in which Dhoni bids adieu to the game of cricket.
