The hilarious instance happened in the 17th over of the innings when Rashid Khan bowled a brilliant ball and trapped Beau Webster in front of the stumps. Soon the bowler appealed for a leg-before wicket and umpire was spotted in two minds, who raised his finger to dismiss the batsman out but ended up scratching his nose. It was an amusing sight for the fans but a shocker for the onfield players. However, in the end, the match was won by Adelaide Strikers by a margin of 18 runs against Melbourne Renegades.
After the match on the sidelines, Rashid Khan in an interview said that he didn’t know that the umpire changed his decision as he was busy celebrating the wicket. The players on the field said that it’s not out and as he watched it on the big screen, he found it quite funny the way in which umpire changed his decision.
He also added the fact that it was the right thing to do as the umpire was not 100%sure.. For the leg spinner, it was a fair call and everyone should appreciate the umpire for the same.
