Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has once again predicted the scoreline for the upcoming India v Australia Test series. Australia are scheduled to play 4 Test match on the tour which commences on February 23 at Pune. Earlier, Ganguly had quoted that he will not be surprised to see a 4-0 scoreline in the favour of the hosts in the series. India have been in a terrific form and have been unbeaten in their last 19 Test matches. As per the quotes in India Today, Sourav Ganguly has yet again predicted the same scoreline for the series.

Moreover, he has cautioned the Indian skipper Virat Kohli ahead of the series. He noted that the Aussies will come hard at him and hence the Indian batting mainstay must remain calm in all situations. He reflected back in time when India toured Australia in 2015-16 season. Ganguly quoted the tour as the life changing one for Virat Kohli. He remarked that the Aussies had fueled him up in the series and since then he has emerged as a total match winner for India.

“I’m not sure it’s going to make any difference to Virat Kohli. They targeted him in Australia and he came back and played superbly. For me, it was the life-changing series for Kohli and since then he’s been a terrific player. They might come back hard at him, they will do that in the first Test match but they’ll have to keep winning and competing as well against India because if they don’t compete then that fire power will slowly fizzle away as the series progresses,” said the former Indian skipper.

He further conceded that the tour will be very tough for the Aussies. He cited that for Australia to be successful, senior players and players with experience in Indian conditions must step up. He then conceded the final prediction that he feels 4-0 would be the outcome of the series. He called it in favor of the team India.

“It’s going to be tough for Australia it won’t be easy for them. Smith and Warner will have to play really really well and take the mantle of this team forward. Players like Shaun Marsh, Mitch Marsh who’ve been in this country will have to not just play well but make it a big big series. And we’ll have to wait and see whether they can do that,” Sourav Ganguly added further.

“I believe India can win it, they have the capability and the opportunity to win 4-0 in this series so it will be hard work for Australia,” Ganguly conceded.
