Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, tied the knots back in December 2017 and their wedding grabbed the headlines for quite a while. Their reception parties in Mumbai and Delhi were attended by a number of dignitaries from different fields. Thereafter, the relationship between the duo has only strengthened and has given couple goals to many.

Anushka is currently on a break from movies and has been spending some quality time with her hubby. She recently featured on the cover page of Filmfare’s August issue. During her interview with the magazine, she spoke about her camaraderie with Virat. However, she also expressed displeasure over media constantly speculating about her pregnancy and how she keeps on being asked about it.

“Yeah. If you’re married then people ask, Is she pregnant? They love to read into something when there really isn’t anything. An actress gets married and the next thing they talk about it is, Is she pregnant? When she’s dating it’s like, Shaadi karne wale hai ki nahi? It’s crude. You should allow people to live their life,” Anushka was quoted as saying in Filmfare.

What’s the need to jump the gun?

She urged people to not be impatient and act prematurely. Anushka understands that she doesn’t need to give clarifications on the issue. Rather she prefers to turn a deaf ear to the commotion and called the matter as a ‘monkey on her back’.

“What’s the need to jump the gun? Then put someone in a position where they end up clarifying unnecessarily. What irks me is the clarification part. Do I need to clarify? Nahi! But then that’s how it is. Any actress, who gets married… sabke baare mein they’ve said something,” she stated.

“Someone could be wearing clothes that are loose. That’s because they’re trendy. But they’re said to be pregnant. It’s like a monkey on your back. You can’t do anything about it. You just ignore it,” the 31-year-old actress added.

As far as her career in the Indian film industry is concerned, she was last seen in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero. Her husband Virat is set to lead the Indian team in the Test, ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, scheduled to get underway on August 3.
