Jacques Kallis shaves off exactly half his beard for a noble cause

Jacques Kallis will go down in history as one of the best if not the best allrounder the game has ever seen. He is undoubtedly the most decorated batsman to have represented South Africa in international cricket till date. His numbers with both bat and ball are nothing less than magical as he left a lasting impression with his exploits on the field.

He plied his trade for the Proteas for nearly two decades. The legendary cricketer made his debut in international cricket in 1995 and retired in 2014. By the time he brought down curtains on his illustrious career, he became the benchmark for the allrounders across the format. The world has not seen a better allrounder than Kallis in the last two or three decades and his numbers prove that.

Kallis ended his ODI career with 11579 runs in 328 matches with 17 centuries and 86 fifties at an average of 44.36. He played 25 T20s, scoring 666 runs with five fifties. He is the only South African batsman with over 10,000 runs in Tests and ODIs. The all-rounder finished his Test career with a staggering 13,289 runs in 166 matches with 45 centuries, 58 fifties at an average of 55.37.

As far as his performance with the ball is concerned, he was equally impressive. In 328 ODIs, he picked up an impressive 273 wickets. In Tests, he picked up 292 wickets with 6 for 54 being his best performance. Apart from his international career, Kallis also enjoyed stellar success in franchise cricket. In 2012, he helped Kolkata Knight Riders win their first-ever IPL title. Later, he went on to coach the side.

Kallis accepts a unique challenge:

Away from the hustle and bustle of international cricket at the moment, Jacques Kallis is enjoying his private life and his latest post on social media pretty much proves that. He took up a unique challenge in order to collect money for a good cause and took to Instagram to share a snap of his face after completing the challenge.

Kallis shared a picture of himself with half his beard and moustache shaved in order to raise money to save rhinos in South Africa. The challenge involves shaving off half of the facial and chest hair in order to raise awareness and money in order to save rhinos.

“Going to be an interesting few days. All for a good cause 😂🙈Rhinos and golf development @alfreddunhill,” wrote Kallis.
