Former India batsman Virender Sehwag has reacted hilariously to Suresh Raina’s stunning return to the Indian Premier League (IPL). The southpaw made his much-awaited return to action in IPL on Saturday during the clash between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium.

The game is Raina’s first in IPL since the final of the 2019 edition. The former India batsman had skipped the last edition of IPL citing personal reasons. Raina had taken part in the pre-season camp and had also travelled to the UAE with the CSK camp. However, he had sensationally decided to return home just a few days before the start of IPL 2020.

Raina had also announced his retirement from international cricket before leaving for the UAE. Between the IPL 2019 final and the ongoing game, he had played only 5 competitive games. But the lack of action seems to have no effect on him as Mr. IPL hit the ground running in IPL 2020. He returned to action in style with a quickfire 54 off 36.

The three-time IPL winner reached the landmark with a maximum off Marcus Stoinis. He walked in to bat at No.4 and made a cautious start before going for the big shots. He was eventually run out for 54. Raina’s comeback knock was studded with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

Virender Sehwag’s reaction to Suresh Raina’s knock

With Raina hitting the ground running in IPL, his name has started trending on social media. The cricketing fraternity has been heaping praise on him for his fine return to action. And the tweet that has stolen the show was from none other than Sehwag. The legendary batsman had a hilarious reaction to his former teammate’s fifty.

Soon after Raina crossed the 50-run mark, Sehwag took to Twitter to post a picture of a room with balcony and wrote: “This is the difference. Jai Jai Balcony. Mazaak hai, jyada seriously mat lo. (It’s a joke, don’t take it seriously).” Last year, reports had emerged that Raina returned to India from the UAE before IPL 2020 because he was not given a room with a balcony.
