MS Dhoni has stayed out of the limelight since the last season of the IPL in the UAE. But on Saturday, the new look of the former Indian captain went viral on social media. It looked like a commercial video ahead of the IPL 2021.

Star Sports uploaded a video in which Dhoni was seen without any hair on his head. He was dressed up like a monk in the video. As soon as Star Sports uploaded this video on Twitter, it went viral and everyone started to wonder why the Chennai Super Kings captain has turned his look like a monk’s.

In the video, Dhoni was heard saying, “Kya hai iss avatar ke piche ka mantra, jaldi hi pata chalega.” In the caption of the video, Star Sports’ added “Mantra… avatar… we are as … as you are right now! Give us your best guess as to what this mantra is that he’s talking about and keep watching this space for the reveal.”

MS Dhoni keeps his fans waiting to reveal the reason why he donned a monk look

Over the years, Dhoni has donned many looks which have mostly surprised his fans. He was known for his long hair when he arrived in the Indian team. After being named the ODI captain, he had got rid of that look and started to keep short hair. After winning the 2011 World Cup as well, Dhoni changed his look as he trimmed all his hair.

This upcoming IPL season could be Dhoni’s last one. Ahead of the 2020 season, he had announced his retirement from international cricket, which led to the speculations that he might quit after playing the 2020 edition. But, he revealed during his team’s last league match that he would be coming back for one more season.

Chennai will be opening their campaign with a match against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai on April 10. Chennai ended last season as the seventh-ranked team in the IPL. It also marked their first season when they didn’t qualify for the playoffs stages. This year they have bought a few new players, boosting their chances of finishing in the top four.
