James Pattinson signs two year contract with Brisbane Heat

The Big Bash League (BBL) is a celebrated cricket tournament in Australia which generates a massive hype across the country. There have been eight participating teams who competed in the erstwhile season of the T20 league. Brisbane Heat has boasted of some of the most explosive cricketers including the likes of Brendon McCullum and Chris Lynn.

However, they didn’t have an auspicious season last time around as they finished seventh in the league table having able to win four out of their ten games. Recently, they have signed James Pattinson, the Victorian fast-bowler, for a couple of seasons. He couldn’t participate in the previous season owing to a back injury and had to undergo surgery in New Zealand.

‘Handful for any batting side’- Vettori

Daniel Vettori, the head coach of the Brisbane Heat welcomed Pattinson to their setup and emphasized the quality he is expected to bring forth in a recent interaction with the journalists. “We identified some areas where we needed to improve on from last season, and James will help us deliver on some of that. James at his best is a handful for any batting side and we believe he will add another dimension to our club” Vettori was quoted as saying by CricBuzz.

Meanwhile, Pattinson expressed his eagerness to play for the Heat and thanked the franchise for drafting him in for a couple of seasons. “I’m looking forward to working with Dan and playing alongside Brendon McCullum and Chris Lynn and the rest of the boys. I’m grateful for the opportunities I have had with the Renegades, and before them the Stars, and I thank them for the great support they have provided me over the seasons. But joining the Heat represents a fresh start and one I am really looking forward to” Pattinson remarked
