Jasprit Bumrah has been a sensation for India in the T20 international series against Australia, Asia Cup T20 and also in the World T20, with his tailing in yorkers and wickets with the new ball as well. The young pacer is serving his franchise the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and has been among the wickets in the league thus far.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Bumrah said that he doesn’t feel that abusing is needed to show aggression instead, the aggression should be inside. “You have to tell the batsman that you are always on top of your game. But you don’t need to abuse the batsmen. You can give him that stare but abusing is not on. I don’t go and do stupid stuff in front of the batsman. I used to do that. In my early days, I used to be very aggressive, get really angry but ultimately it affected my bowling. But now I know. Aggression should be inside.”

Especially with his ability to bowl those yorkers and his slower cutters, he has been the preferred choice for the death overs and in crucial situations. “There’s always pressure when you bowl those crucial overs but I enjoy that challenge. If you do well then you can take your team home,” the 7th ranked T20 bowler said.

Bumrah has been phenomenal on the tour to Australia ahead of the World T20, and MS Dhoni named him as “the find of the tour”. He also had a great start to the IPL for Mumbai Indians, where he picked up 6 wickets in the first 3 matches.

When asked if he is bothered about people branding him as a T20 specialist, he said: “It doesn’t matter to me. I know where I stand because I have done well in Ranji Trophy too. I have played four-day matches for India A in Australia so I have the belief since I have done well over there. So it doesn’t matter what people think.”

Jasprit Bumrah feels confident that he will be successful in the longer format of the game as well because of his success in the Ranji Trophy and four-day matches for India A.
