'Jasprit Bumrah is mentally strong and will comeback stronger,' - Irfan Pathan optimistic about pacer's comeback

Jasprit Bumrah, the young Indian bowling sensation was hit with a back injury. After returning from the Caribbean tour, he was left out of the team for South Africa series. BCCI had asked him to get treatment of his back injury which is fatal from Team India’s perspective. Virat Kohli and Co. is scheduled to play ICC T20 World Cup within a span of 12 months in Australia.

In the last two or three years, the Gujarat-born player has become a spearhead of Team India’s bowling attack. Bumrah also played in the 2019 World Cup that recently concluded in England.

Irfan Pathan is positive about the comeback of Jasprit Bumrah

Recently, news came into breaking about Mumbai Indians pacer that he will be out of action for this year and is all set to miss T20I, ODI and Test series against West Indies that will kick off from the first week of December. Now, the Indian swing bowling all-rounder Irfan Pathan has given his opinion and also important advice that can help Indian bowler in the upcoming days.

Irfan feels that Bumrah will come back stronger than before after recovering from his injury. He just needs to have a positive mindset and self-confidence, “Once that happens, the ability to trust your body goes away but I’m sure (Jasprit) Bumrah will come back better because he doesn’t get affected by pressure. He’s mentally strong and his persona will only help his case. But it’s important to have a positive mindset and self-confidence,” left-hand pacer said as quoted by Sportstar.

He also recalled an incident back in 2010 and recited that doctors advised him to leave cricket but he made his comeback after working hard for more than two years, “In 2010, I was told that I should stop playing but I made a comeback two years later. I worked very hard on the smallest things for one and a half years; kept doing the core, glute and small muscle activation exercises because I had multiple back fractures.” he added.

The Vadodara-born player is known for his exceptional swing bowling that he used to get during his International days. He bowled a memorable hat-trick against Pakistan back in 2006. At the moment he is seen in the commentary box during the Team India’s encounters. He is also going to act in a Tamil movie in the upcoming days and will turn 35 on 27th October 2019.
