Team India lost the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) Final to New Zealand last week by 8 wickets. While the batsmen succumbed under pressure in both the innings, even the bowlers didn’t look as threatening in the helpful conditions. Jasprit Bumrah was one of the bowlers who looked off-colour in the final and especially during the first innings.

He didn’t pick up a single wicket in 26 overs bowled in the first essay. Also, defending 139 runs, the pacer was expected to step up for the team. However, he once again went wicketless and was unlucky at times as well with Cheteshwar Pujara dropping Ross Taylor off his bowling. Despite bowling really well, in the second innings, Bumrah has been at the centre of all the criticism for his poor show with the ball.

The fans are not happy with the pacer for his performance in the crunch game and have directed all the trolls and criticism on his latest Instagram post. Jasprit Bumrah, on Wednesday, posted an adorable picture with his wife Sanjana Ganesan and this is when the fans targetted him in the comments section.

Jasprit Bumrah enjoying a break ahead of England Tests

The fast bowler is now enjoying a break much like his other India teammates. Their next assignment in the longest format is the five-match series against England starting from August 4. All the players of the team have been told to report in Durham on July 14 where the pre-series camp will be organized.

Jasprit Bumrah would be keen on making amends for a poor show in the WTC Final and helping India win their first Test series in England since 2007. This isn’t the first time that he has been under the scanner for his performance in the final of an ICC event. It was his no-ball that had reprieved Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy.

And the rest is history. Even then many had criticised Bumrah for bowling a no-ball. He will be looking forward to doing well in the Test series against England and shut down his critics. However, for now, the cricketer unfortunately has to bare with all the comments.
