The rising proliferation of the World Health Organisation-accredited global pandemic that is the coronavirus [COVID-19] has brought the entire world into a lockdown. More than 5,00,000 global cases and around 12,000 casualties have already been reported and in a bid to avert further escalation of the situation, most of the countries have ordered a complete lockdown with the schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, offices put on a backburner.

The world of sports has been grappled by the escalating situation and with almost every event like La Liga, Olympics, Indian Premier League, Premier League, NBA getting postponed, sports personalities are making use of this time to delve on things which they normally don’t get the time for. Closer home, Indian cricketers are doing a variety of different things to keep themselves engaged.

Ace Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is currently using this time to pick up new hobbies which include gardening. Bumrah took to Twitter on Friday to share a photo of him watering plants at home

‘Using this time to reflect on the aspects of my life that are truly important and picking up some new hobbies along the way,” Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler, wrote on Twitter.

India is currently on a 21-day lockdown in the wake of Coronavirus

Bumrah, like other prominent public figures, had also taken to Twitter to urge fans to stay at home and practice self-isolation so that they can safeguard their health and the future of their family and friends.

“We have to act wisely for these 21 days to ensure the well-being of our entire nation. Let us all do our part, stay at home, stay safe and safeguard the health & future of our families & friends. We’ll come out of this stronger. #StayHomeIndia #JaiHind,” tweeted Bumrah.

Apart from Bumrah, other Indian cricketers are also taking to social media to post about their activities during the quarantine phase. While Yuzvendra Chahal- as usual- is engaged in making Tik Tok videos, the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Indian Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur have been interacting with fans via Question & Answer session.
