Javagal Srinath denies Robin Uthappa-Sarfaraz Khan spat: Former India pacer and International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Javagal Srinath has revealed that he didn’t receive any complaints from Royal Challengers Bangalore camp after some reports made round an ill-tempered scuffle between their player Sarfaraz Khan and Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Robin Uthappa right after the game at Eden Gardens on Saturday in which Chris Gayle took his side home ending Kolkata’s winning run.
According to reports, KKR opener Uthappa, who scored just 9 in the match, was alleged to have had an altercation with the 17-year-old Mumbai based RCB batsman Sarfraz and even went on to hold him by the collar. This incident happened just behind the sight screen. After seeing the tussle, RCB’s AB de Villiers and Ashok Dinda rushed to the spot to the rescue of their fellow player. Later that night Srinath summoned Robin Uthappa KKR CEO Venky Mysore and South African skipper De Villiers to attend the meeting and Srinath have denied having any knowledge of this. It was learnt that Uthappa has apologized to Sarfaraz for the incident. Srinath, the match referee of that match told the PTI that he didn’t receive any complaint. He said Nothing of that sort has happened. I’ve not received any complaint. Even officials of KKR has denied such incidents. An official said We’ve not heard anything about it.
