Veteran Indian batsman Suresh Raina has been training very hard in the recent times. He has left no stone unturned in his bid to make a comeback to the national side. Raina, who was once an indispensable part of the Indian lineup in limited overs cricket, has been facing stiff competition from the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Kedar Jadhav, and Rishabh Pant in the recent times.

Needless to say, Suresh Raina decided to hit the gym hard and get back to the supreme fitness to ensure a comeback to the side. In a recent tweet, Raina remarked that he is heading to Bengaluru to have his evaluation done after having put in a lot of hard work. As expected, the good wishes came in flooding for the Indian cricketer.

“After months of hard work it’s time for an evaluation. Off to NCA! Looking forward. #enroute #Bangalore,” tweeted Suresh Raina.

Among all the wishes, the message that caught the attention of all was that of former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes. In a cheeky tweet, Rhodes pointed out at the torn jeans of Raina being the indicators and evidences of his hardwork.

“U have trained so hard @ImRaina that even your jeans are worn out!! Have fun at the NCA – great effort to get back into shape,” tweeted Jonty Rhodes.

India’s best fielder

Rhodes and Suresh Raina share mutual admiration. Rhodes, who is revered as the best fielder to have ever graced the field, has often noted that Raina reminds him of his own playing days. In a recent conversation where Rhodes spoke about Tendulkar-Kohli comparison, he had also picked Raina as the best Indian fielder.

“Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif were some of the better fielders around. Virat Kohli, he is ok. But Suresh Raina for me is the best fielder in India. He goes for the ball, regardless of whether he thinks he can get it or not. He reminds me a lot of a much younger Jonty Rhodes,” Rhodes had quoted.
