Ever since being frozen out of the Pakistan side, Junaid Khan has been seeking a way back into the side. Although it did indeed come as a shock when he was indeed axed, Junaid has been doing what he does best. His performances in the Bangladesh Premier League in the most recent edition have been largely those that have caught the eyes of many pundits who have stated that he ought to get back into the grand scheme of things for Pakistan.

The 27-year old was omitted from the side that toured England earlier this year, but the fact of the matter remained that he did not drown himself in self-pity and focused on taking his skills to the next level by making himself a world class bowler in the coming months. Junaid also went on to state that the most important thing as far as he was concerned was that he was bowling with a good rhythm.

“It’s not just about taking wickets in BPL, I’m happier with the way I’m able to bowl. Most importantly, my rhythm and confidence are back and those are key for a fast bowler,” the Dawn quoted Junaid as saying.

Junaid Khan also went on to state his displeasure after hearing the news. “I was in England when I heard about the news and denied the false claims that I had said I’d like to play for India and not Pakistan via a tweet. I always want to represent my country but was disappointed when dropped from the team as I had been regular members for a few years,” he added.

Finally, the 27-year old concluded by stating that he would love to be a part of the Pakistan side in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. “I really want to become a regular member of the Pakistan line-up and it will be great if I am selected for the Australian ODI series as the wickets there will provide more assistance to fast bowlers like me with some swing and good bounce,” Junaid said.
