Rabada termed Rishabh 'incredible player'.

Kagiso Rabada had a fantastic run in the IPL 2019 till he suffered an injury and has withdrawn from the tournament’s business end. The 23-year-old is in possession of the purple cap at the moment with 25 scalps in 12 matches at an average of 14.72 and strike rate of less than eight. However, he has returned home to recover from the injury. Another frontline South African pacer Dale Steyn too has met a similar fate, adding to the woes of his country’s team management.
He has felt that his team-mate Rishabh Pant deserved a place in India’s 15-member squad heading to England for the World Cup. He called the wicket-keeper-batsman an “incredible player” and added that the latter has in it him to single-handedly win games. Rabada also said a bowler has to be in his top game while locking horns with the 21-year-old Pant.
“Pant is an incredible player. He has the ability to win a game single-handedly. I wouldn’t say that I’m glad he is not coming to the World Cup, there are players like that in each team. Everyone’s work is cut out. When you play against Pant you have to be on your A Game. I thought he would’ve been in the Indian squad,” Rabada said in an interview with Times of India.
Pant has been in good form this year
Pant has scored 348 runs in 13 matches in this IPL with two blazing fifties at an average of 31.63 and strike rate of 160 plus. His performance this year is still short of that last year by some distance but yet, Pant has been able to turn a lot of heads. Both his fifties (both 78 not out) helped the DC beat Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.
Pant was in the race to make the WC squad after a phenomenal rise in Test cricket last year but he eventually lost the race to the more experienced Dinesh Karthik owing to better wicket-keeping skills. Pant was chosen over Karthik in India’s last home series against Australia but he made a mess of the opportunity.
